Doing The Work To Win.

Getting to be a part of the Biden Campaign Ad team was an honor and a dream. The work for the country is just beginning of course, but getting to do any of the necessary work to get us here is still humbling.

As a writer and creative for the campaign I was tasked with everything from blue sky thinking to late night turnarounds on scripts and content made not just to channel the voice of the campaign - all policy, values and surrogates included - but to resonate with audiences as varied as Gen Z activists and Wisconsin farmers.

From national TV ad buys to local radio, Get Out The Vote IGTV to YouTube advocacy, getting to hear the new President say “I approve this message” for something I wrote in my pajamas is still a mind-blow and an opportunity I hope to keep earning with whatever work I get to do next.

Policy

Every piece of content created was centered on asks around specific issues, platform solutions and the audiences those issues were most important to— all within the right character counts, of course.

Advocacy

Getting to write not just for the campaign’s voice, but for multiple voices that supported the campaign was a real thrill. From Hall of Fame Athletes to religious leaders and even a rap for Lin-Manuel Miranda— I’m still stunned! (And I’m still counting it even if he didn’t use it— It’s okay! He wrote Hamilton!)

Opportunity

Every assignment was not just an opportunity to move the political needle, but to meet the challenge of making sure politics moved the soul, and maybe even strengthened the heart. Sharing and building that belief is something I’ll always be thankful for.
